MOHAI’S collections focus on the history of Seattle and the central Puget Sound region from the time of Euro-American settlement in 1851 to the current day.
Contemporary history-in-the-making will be emphasized in the new MOHAI. We are seeking artifacts and other materials that will help us make those stories come alive. Currently we are looking for an intact fallout shelter from the 1950s - 1960s. If you have a fallout shelter at your home and would be willing to let us visit and photograph the shelter, please contact Dr. Lorraine McConaghy at (206) 324-1126 Ext. 23.
Whether for school children or busy adults, MOHAI at Lake Union Park will offer programs at times and in ways that fit the needs of lifelong learners who are busy, interested and involved.
History –past and current- will be presented with opportunities for conversation and socializing.
