The Museum of History & Industry (MOHAI) is dedicated to enriching lives by preserving, sharing and teaching the diverse history of Seattle, the Puget Sound region and the nation.
HISTORY IS MOVING
The proposed widening of SR 520 has necessitated that MOHAI move from the site it has called home for more than 50 years. But necessity gave birth to an opportunity that MOHAI embraced.

An unprecedented rate of change hurling through the 21st century creates both possibilities and risk. At this pivotal time, people of the Seattle/Puget Sound region can continue to create a future that positively impacts the region and the world by building on history, on the lessons and triumphs that have made us who we are today. MOHAI at Lake Union Park will be a touchstone for preserving what is unique about this region while building a future that surpasses imagination. When we understand what’s come before, what’s made us who we are now, together we can create a future to be proud of, a future built upon the strengths and lessons of our past.
