History is Opportunity

The Museum of History & Industry now faces an historic moment of its own. A move necessitated by the expansion of Washington State Highway 520 created an opportunity for MOHAI to move into the historic and beautifully sited Naval Reserve Building in Lake Union Park. This landmark building is located on the same land where Native Americans lived on the lake shores and fished its waters for thousands of years and where Seattle’s early settlers built some of their first homes and businesses. One hundred and fifty years later, it is a neighborhood reborn—with high-tech and biotech enterprises, parks, shops, restaurants, urban homes and cultural attractions.
