EXPLORING INSIDE!
As you enter from the park you move through the historic entry into the vast atrium punctuated by exhibit towers and featuring a large grid filled with pivotal artifacts from our rich collection. On this level, we focus on the important topics of the 21st century and give visitors a chance to share their stories and opinions with us. As you move up the stairs of the Natural World tower you travel through the chronological narratives that connect our rich history to our lives today.

At the new MOHAI, we continue to aspire to enrich our community by preserving, sharing and teaching the diverse history of Seattle and the Puget Sound region. The museum focuses on the aspects of history that make the Puget Sound Region unique, and it will provide a deeper knowledge of the region’s history in order to help us envision a better future. The museum will be a gathering place for people of different ages and backgrounds, offering experiences that are unexpected, thought provoking and fun. Visitors to MOHAI will be participants as they explore history through a highly engaging, unique and thematically rich environment.
Exhibits will share the unforgettable stories of people, places and events rooted in historical accuracy, keeping MOHAI’s collection of artifacts and images central to the experience. Iconic elements of our history will connect the past with the present.
